Supporting Every Student to Thrive
At Spring Farm Public School, we are committed to ensuring every student feels supported, included and ready to learn.
Our school is home to five specialist support classes, including three Multi-Categorical (MC) classes and two IO/IS classes. These classrooms have been thoughtfully designed with breakout spaces, accessible bathrooms and secure, fenced outdoor learning areas to provide safe, supportive and engaging environments for our students.
Students in our support unit can enjoy a structured play program during lunch and recess, helping to build social skills, confidence and positive friendships in a supportive setting.
Our experienced and dedicated team of teachers, School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) and specialist staff work closely with families to provide personalised learning and wellbeing support for every child.
Support is not limited to our specialist classes. In our mainstream classrooms, we provide additional learning support for students who need it. Your child does not need a formal diagnosis to receive support, and assistance can begin at any stage of their schooling. We work in partnership with families to identify needs early and provide the right support to help every student succeed.
Support That Fits Your Child's Needs
Every child learns differently, and at Spring Farm Public School we believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. We work closely with families to understand each child's strengths and needs, creating personalised support and reasonable adjustments that help them thrive both academically and socially.
Additional learning support may include:
- Teachers, School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) and families working together to develop personalised support plans.
- Specialist support for students learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).
- Tailored learning opportunities for high potential and gifted students.
- Small group or targeted literacy and numeracy intervention programs.
- Regular reviews to monitor progress and adjust supports as students' needs change.
Support in the classroom may include:
- Accessible and inclusive learning environments.
- Assistive technology and specialised learning resources.
- Adjusted teaching strategies, including additional guidance, simplified instructions or modified learning activities.
- Flexible learning spaces and breakout areas where appropriate.
Assessment adjustments may include:
- Extra time to complete tasks.
- Simplified language or instructions.
- Planned movement or rest breaks.
- Alternative ways for students to demonstrate their learning, such as oral presentations or practical tasks.
We identify when students may benefit from additional support by:
- Monitoring learning, wellbeing and behaviour.
- Reviewing assessment data and student progress.
- Listening to concerns or requests from parents and carers.
Any adjustments are planned in partnership with parents and carers, reviewed regularly and updated as needed. If you have concerns about your child's learning or wellbeing, we encourage you to contact our school. Together, we can ensure your child receives the support they need to achieve their best.
